VIDEO: Gaffer on Stockport County

By Ian Appleyard | 6th August 2018

Manager Martin Gray is demanding maximum points from the club's next two home games against Stockport County and Alfreton Town.

Speaking to the media this lunchtime, Gray stressed his attacking philosophies and his desire to turn Bootham Crescent into a fortress this season.

"We have two big home games this week and we have got to go in with the mindset of taking maximum points," he said. "From Chorley to the last game of the season, your mindset is to win every game you go into. I have never been one to set my stall out to be (only) 'hard to beat'

"I have always been a very attack-minded manager and that brings a successful mentality within the group. We have got to make sure that - on our home patch - we are very strong, very disciplined, and we take our game to every opponent.

"Stockport finished last season very, very strongly and have started off well," he added. "It's about three points. We have got to put on an outstanding performance with high energy and a strong mentality. There is a lot of expectation and we have to make sure we deliver."

City host Stockport County on Tuesday night (kick-off 7.45pm) and Alfreton Town on Saturday afternoon (kikc-off 3pm).
