Steve Watson interview

21st March 2019

Manager Steve Watson spoke to the official club website ahead of Saturday's home game against Boston United in Vanarama National League North (kick-off 3pm).

He discussed the return of striker Macaulay Langstaff, Jake Wright's loan stay at Boston, and hailed the improvement in defender Sean Newton's game.

Looking ahead to Saturday's game, Watson said: "It doesn't matter who we are playing now, we need to win games. We also need to create more as the defensive record over the last five or six games has been good.

"But I must stress that it's not all down to forwards - we all have to chip in, we have to look more like scoring from set-plays, we have to break the line from midfield.

"We have to find a way to do that and, if it means making changes to bring people in, it's too important not to take the chance."

City have no fresh injury concerns but midfielder Simon Heslop (knee) and defender Daniel Parslow (concussion) remain long-term absentees.
