Reserves back in action at Grimsby

By Ian Appleyard | 9th January 2018

Clovis Kamdjo has been ruled out of Tuesday's Central League game at Grimsby Town after suffering a minor calf strain in training.

The midfielder had originally been pencilled-in to make his return to competitive action after 13 months on the sidelines following cruciate knee ligament surgery.

However, Kamdjo will now target involvement in the reserve game at Mansfield Town on January 23.

City have been without a reserve team fixture since November 28 and today's game takes place at Grimsby's Cheapside training ground (postcode DN37 0HT), kick-off 2pm.

Youth team manager Steve Torpey takes charge of the side which is likely to include Daniel Rowe, James Gray, Simon Heslop, Connor Smith, Sam Muggleton, and Tyler Walton.

City, meanwhile, have confirmed that midfielder Sean McAllister has now returned to Grimsby following the completion of a one month loan deal.

Sporting director Dave Penney said: "His stay at the club helped us through a busy period which also coincided with the absence of Sean Newton through injury.

"He played four games in a relatively short period of time, got himself match fit, and now goes back to compete for a place in Grimsby's first team."
