Match preview: Bradford City

By Ian Appleyard | 14th July 2018

York City host Bradford City on Saturday afternoon (kick-off 1pm) in a pre-season friendly at Bootham Crescent.

It will be the third game in eight days for the Minstermen who won 2-1 at Shildon AFC last weekend before losing at home in midweek to League One side Barnsley.

Manager Martin Gray is hoping to welcome back new signings Jordan Burrow (calf) and Macaulay Langstaff (illness) who both missed Tuesday night's game. Defender Kallum Griffiths (ankle) has resumed training after missing the first two friendlies but defender Tom Allan (knee) remains a doubt.

The Bantams are preparing for a fifth consecutive campaign in League One after finishing 11th last season.

Former York City loanee Michael Collins is the club's new Head Coach and took over in June following the departure of Simon Grayson.

Collins, 32, was previously employed as Bradford's Under-18 Lead Coach and will be supported by assistants Greg Abbott and Martin Drury.

The Bantams have signed nine new players so far this summer - Richard O'Donnell, Joe Riley, Anthony O'Connor Josh Wright, Tom Clare, Connor Wood, Thomas Isherwood, Sherwin Seedorf and Hope Akpan

Admission to the game is 'pay on the turnstile' and costs £8 adults and £4 concessions.
