Ladies play in semi-final this Sunday

18th March 2022

The Minsterbelles return to action as they face York RI in the County Cup semi-final this weekend after a two week break from matches.

City won the previous meeting between the two sides 3-11 at the same stage of the same competition, the semi-final of last year’s County Cup.

Having made it to the final last year York will be looking to at least achieve the same feat this year with the aim of going one better and winning it this time around.

York come into the game still unbeaten in the league and going strongly in the League cup too having beaten Millmoor Juniors 7-1 in their previous match.

This Sunday’s visitors are currently second in the North East Regional Womens Football League Southern division, ten points behind the leaders Hull United.

York RI also come into the game on the back of a win, they too beat Millmoor Juniors in their last league game last Sunday, winning 8-1, setting up an exciting tie this weekend.
