Kevin's mission to raise awareness

By Ian Appleyard | 11th October 2018

The inspirational Kevin Webber visited Bootham Crescent today as part of his epic 'March for Men' in support of Prostate Cancer UK’s partnership with the MANarama National League.

Mr Webber, who was diagnosed with advanced incurable terminal prostate cancer four years ago, is walking seven marathons in seven days ahead of Non-League Day on Saturday.

He was greeted today by City captain Joe Tait, club officials, and staff from the club's Foundation and his visit was also covered live on BBC Radio York and filmed for BT Sport and the National League.

One man dies every 45 minutes from prostate cancer and, on Non-League Day, all MANarama League captains will proudly wear a unique bright orange captain’s armband, which includes the iconic Prostate Cancer UK logo, to illustrate their club's support against the most common cancer in men.

Mr Webber's walk will be featured on BT Sport's coverage of FC Halifax against Chesterfield on Saturday.
