York RTC Girls recieve national recognition

By Dan Simmonite | 12th November 2019

City’s female section, which includes the Regional Talent Club (RTC) and Ladies team, run by the Foundation, have been in action recently with a successful start to the season so far.

The RTC U14s and U16s have hosted Manchester United and Manchester City over the last two weeks. Whilst it is heavily focused on development the U14s recorded a 4-3 victory over Man United however the U16s suffered a heavy defeat.

The York City Ladies team went two weeks without a fixture but last week fell to a 3-1 defeat to local rivals Harrogate Town, who they will play again this weekend in the return fixture.

We have had one U16s player (Goalkeeper Abi Wallace) called up for a National Performance Camp and invited to be a ball girl for the England Lionesses Game at Wembley this Saturday (9th November).

Furthermore, two U14s players (Goalkeeper Rebecca Sidewell and Forward Esme Bolton) called up for a National Talent Camp which both took place around the half term holiday.
