York City Football Club's Foundation team is aiming to raise awareness of homelessness in York this Christmas by supporting 'Homeless Leeds Support - York Street Kitchen.'

These fabulous volunteers run a street kitchen every Sunday evening at St Sampson's Square (6pm-8pm) which  provides hot food and essential supplies for the rising number of homeless people in the city.

There are two simple ways that you - our amazing fans - can help the cause.

1. Donate winter supplies. The Foundation team is currently collecting coats, thick socks, blankets, pillows, jumpers, sleeping bags, small tents, roll mats etc to deliver to the street kitchen on December 17 which will help keep people safe and warm.

All of these items can be handed in at the Foundation's office at Bootham Crescent, Monday-Friday (9.30am-4.30pm). Alternatively, arrange an evening drop-off by phoning 01904 559508 in advance. The deadline for donations via the Foundation is Friday December 15, 4.30pm.

2. Publicise this campaign in any way possible. On Twitter use the hashtags #TeamYork #Waymorethanjust football or #Makeadifference.

Many thanks for your support!
