By Dan Simmonite | 20th December 2019

Yesterday the players and management visited the Children’s Ward at York Teaching Hospital to deliver presents provided by John Lewis York, Vangarde.

The department store were kind enough to donate 70 presents for the visit, with Paul Firth from the store organising the gifts for the day.

Later that evening Steve Watson and the players visited St Luke’s Church on Burton Stone Lane for their annual Christmas Carol Service with the Football Club.It was a traditional service of readings and carols led by the St Luke’s adult and junior choirs with contributions from the Clifton Green School choir.

The readers on the evening were young Matthew Warry from St Luke’s who read the one from Genesis and the final one by Lynn Comer (Reader at St Luke’s).

Other readers were YCFC Foundation Manager Paula Stainton and York City players; Nathan Dyer, Ryan Whitley, Charlie Jebson-King and Jake Watson with the final contribution from John McGhee (Trustee, YCFC Foundation).
