By Dan Simmonite | 19th November 2021

York City Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of Kieran Wallace on loan from Burton Albion until 3rd January 2022.

The 26-year-old defender joins as John Askey’s first signing and is eligible for tomorrow’s game against Kettering Town.

Wallace, previously of Nottingham Forest and Sheffield United, is a left back but comfortable at centre half or as a defensive midfielder.

He has also represented England at Under 16 and Under 17 level.

John Askey has also moved to bolster his backroom staff with the addition of first team coach Kingsley James. The 29-year-old has coaching experience with the Sheffield United, Port Vale and Hereford United youth teams.

James will assist Askey in the dugout tomorrow at the LNER Community Stadium.

Both moves are subject to FA and National League approval.
