Andy Collett leaves role as Goalkeeper Coach

By Dan Simmonite | 4th April 2022

We can confirm that Goalkeeper Coach Andy Collett has left the club.

We would like to thank Andy for his time with the club, over two separate spells coaching the likes of Nick Pope and bringing through talented young goalkeeper Ryan Whitley who now plays in the first team.

We send him our best wishes and thank him for his service to the football club.

Upon leaving the club he said: “Unfortunately my time at York City has come to an end after 3 1/2 years back at the club.

“I leave with the department in a much better place than when I took over the role. I will miss working day to day with such a professional group of goalkeepers eager to learn and improve themselves.

“There are some great people at York City, a great group of players and I wish them every success and will be cheering them on towards hopefully a promotion.

“Thank you Jason McGill for bringing me back to the club, without doubt the best chairman I have worked with. Up the Minstermen and on to my next adventure.”

Mark Goodlad will now take up the role full-time with immediate effect and will work with Manager John Askey and the first team.

The former Port Vale goalkeeper has previously held positions with Nottingham Forest, the Nike Academy and most recently was Head Goalkeeper Coach at Championship club Barnsley.
