FA Cup Draw: Blyth Spartans (A)

By Ian Appleyard | 8th October 2018

City have been drawn away at Blyth Spartans in the fourth qualifying round of the Emirates FA Cup.

The tie will be played on Saturday October 20.

The two clubs have already met this season in MANarama National League North when goals from Jon Parkin and Adriano Moke secured a 2-0 victory for City at Bootham Crescent. Blyth are currently 18th in the league table - six points behind ninth-placed City.

Commenting on the draw, caretaker-manager Sam Collins said: "It's a team in our league, away from home, and we are looking forward to it.

"We played them a few weeks ago and had a good result. But it was a difficult game and we played on a Bank Holiday Monday - just two days after both teams had played on the Saturday - which probably suited us more because we have a bigger squad.

"It won't be an easy game, they have some good players at this level," he added. "But we have enough in the dressing room to be capable of getting into the next round."
