Defender Moon arrives from Tykes

By Ian Appleyard | 28th March 2019

Teenage centreback Jasper Moon has today joined City on work experience from League One side Barnsley.

Moon, 18, is a second year scholar at Oakwell and will provide added defensive cover at Bootham Crescent until the end of the season.

He has made 13 appearances for Barnsley's U18s and 17 appearances for the club's U23 side in the Professional Development League

He was also an unused substitute for Barnsley's first team during a Checkatrade Trophy game against Oldham Athletic in September.

City manager Steve Watson has moved for the youngster after defender David Mirfin, who is on loan from Mansfield Town, was ruled out of this weekend's game against Guiseley with a knee injury.

Defender Daniel Parslow (concussion) has also been unavailable since early February and is unlikely to play again this season.
