WE are pleased to announce that highly-regarded young midfielder Connor Smith has today joined York City on a one-year deal from Hartlepool United.

Smith, 20, is a graduate of the Pools' Academy system, which he joined at the age of 16.

He went on to make around 20 appearances at the Victoria Park side, before taking in loan spells with National League North outfit Spennymoor Town and Whitby Town of the Northern Premier League.

We would like to welcome Connor to Bootham Crescent, and we look forward to seeing him perform in a City shirt.
