Minstermen Announce Working Partnership With UCFB

3rd January 2020

York City is delighted to announce their new partnership with the University Campus of Football Business (UCFB).

UCFB is an institution dedicated to higher education within the sporting industry, with campuses situated at Wembley and the Etihad Stadium. The partnership with York City will benefit the club by having access to willing and skilled students looking to enter the football industry, whilst simultaneously providing these students with the opportunity to gain valuable experience.

For the first step in this partnership, Harry Gadd, MSc Sports Management, will be joining as a Marketing and Commercial Assistant for the duration of the Christmas holidays, with a view to continuing to work remotely when back studying in London.

“I’m really excited about working at York City and think it’s a great opportunity for both the club and UCFB,” explained Harry. “I’m looking forward to gaining real-life experience at a football club and contributing to the commercial operations of the club. There’s so much happening at the moment with an imminent move to the new stadium and so it’s a fantastic opportunity to put what I’ve learned at UCFB into practice.”

Sporting Director, Dave Penney, added, “York City Football Club is delighted to be working with UCFB. We see this as a fantastic opportunity for young, talented students who have a passion for the football industry to develop their skills. We look forward to working with Harry and other young students from UCFB, here at York City, as we prepare for our move to the LNER Community Stadium.”

York City looks forward to utilising the partnership with UCFB and to the possibility of welcoming students in further areas including media, coaching and performance analysis in the future.
