Collins takes temporary charge

By Ian Appleyard | 20th August 2018

Youth team manager Sam Collins has today assumed caretaker responsibility for City's first team following the departure of manager Martin Gray.

He will be assisted by City's strength and conditioning coach Stuart Parnaby.

Collins, 41, played nearly 600 senior games as a defender for clubs including Huddersfield Town, Bury, Port Vale, Hull City, and Hartlepool United.

He arrived at City in the summer after previously working as Professional Development Coach at League One club Bradford City. He has also stood-in as caretaker-manager at Hartlepool on three seperate occasions.

Parnaby, 36, played in in the Premier League for Middlesbrough and Birmingham City and joined City this summer.

Collins and Parnaby will now prepare the players for the Bank Holiday weekend games against Brackley Town and Blyth Spartans.
