Whitley on loan to Whitby Town

York City goalkeeper Ryan Whitley has today joined Whitby Town in a loan deal until December 2.

Manager Martin Gray is keen for Whitley, 18, to gain first team experience as part of his on-going development.

Whitley, who signed a two-year professional contract with the club in August, is available to make his debut for Whitby tomorrow in the Evo-Stik Premier League against Stafford Rangers.

The highly-rated goalkeeper is attracting interest from a number of high profile clubs and has attended a training camp for young English players at the Football Association's National Football Centre.

He links-up with City winger Connor Smith who is also out on loan at Whitby.
