Defender Jassem Sukar is aiming to win a second consecutive title medal after joining York City.

Sukar, 21, won the Scottish Second Division title last season playing for Arbroath on loan from Dundee United.

He now wants to win National League North with the Minstermen who are seeking to bounce back from relegation.

"Hopefully, I will be able to bring that experience and have some impact here," he said. "For the whole season, we were second and the team above (Forfar Athletic) were the local rivals!

"But we literally won it on the last day of the season! It was an amazing feeling.

"Everyone knows that York City is a big club and it’s time to get it back where it belongs," he added. "Hopefully, I can show the manager that I am a good player, what I can do for him, and I can nail myself a first team spot and help the team get back to where it belongs and be top of the league."
