Sean Newton among first players to commit for new season

By Dan Simmonite | 31st July 2020

York City stalwart Sean Newton is the first to sign new terms at Bootham Crescent alongside Harry Spratt, Josh King, Reiss Harrison, and Charlie Jebson-King.

Newton will look forward to his fifth season with the Minstermen, whereas Spratt and King have signed extensions after penning one-year deals last summer.

Harrison and Jebson-King have impressed manager Steve Watson with their performances in the U19s and North Riding Senior Cup, and have also signed new professional contracts to stay with City.

The new deals now take City's squad size up to eight after Pete Jameson, Paddy McLaughlin, and Ryan Whitley were already tied down beyond 2019/20.

Discussions with David Ferguson, Kieran Green, and Alex Kempster are still ongoing.
