Notts County Match Info

York City v Notts County
By Phil Howden | 28th July 2017

York City play the final home friendly of our pre-season preparations tomorrow (Saturday) when our visitors to Bootham Crescent are Sky Bet League 2 side Notts County.

The match kicks off at the traditional time of 3pm.

Gary Mills' boys have returned to York fresh from a four-day training camp in Leicestershire and came back with two good wins under their belts, at Grantham Town (3-1) and Oakham United (9-0) but will be keen to get back on home turf against County.

Our visitors from Nottingham, famously the oldest club in the Football League at 155 years old, are managed by former Premier League star Kevin Nolan and finished 16th in League Two last season. In their squad are a few names York City fans will know well, with former Newcastle United forward Shola Ameobi, ex-City striker Lewis Alessandra, ex-Scunthorpe United player Jonathan Forte and veteran goalkeeper Kevin Pilkington all in the squad. The latter was, of course, the goalkeeper who had a night to forget when the Minstermen defeated his then club Manchester United 3-0 at Old Trafford in the League Cup 2nd Round 1st Leg back in 1995.

Ticket prices for the game, which apply to all public areas of the ground, as are follows:

Adults - £8.00
Over 65s - £4.00
Young Person 18-21 - £4.00
Under 18s - £4.00
Under 5s - FREE

A programme covering all three of our home pre-season friendlies will be available priced at £1.50. This special edition of The Citizen is a fold out poster of the 2017/18 York City fixtures.

An event will also be taking place pre-match between 1pm and 2.30pm where supporters can have their picture taken with the FA Trophy that City captured at Wembley in May. Fans are asked to use the iron stairs entrance near Gate 13. No admission will take place from inside the ground. Bradford Park Avenue away tickets will also be on sale from the Ticket Office (old location) for Season Ticket holders tomorrow from 10.30am-3pm and then 5pm-6pm.

Notts County's last visit to Bootham Crescent was for a League Two fixture on 13th February 2016. Goals from Michael Coulson and Bradley Fewster put City into a 2-0 lead before County pegged a goal back via a Lubo Satka own goal. City won the game 2-1 and the crowd that day was 3,811.

The match officials for the game are referee Mr Richard Clark, who will be assisted by Mr Chris Keightley and Mr Tom Wilson. The fourth official is Mr Dave Holmes.
