Leeds fixture leads to Golf Day switch

By Ian Appleyard | 5th June 2018

York City's annual Golf Day has been moved following the announcement last week of the club's pre-season friendly against Leeds United.

The event was originally scheduled to take place on Thursday July 19 but this now clashes with the fixture against Leeds at Bootham Crescent (kick-off 7pm).

The Golf Day will now take place instead on Tuesday July 17 and has been relocated to Forest Park Golf Club.

The Vice Presidents organising committee wishes to apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Bookings are still being taken for the Golf Day and entry costs £40 per person which includes dinner after the game. For more details contact ycfcgolf@gmail.com

There are no advance tickets on sale for the friendly against Leeds on July 19 but entry will cost £8 adults and £4 concessions.

The VPs, meanwhile, have announced that Simon Wright and his son Olly, 12, have won two season tickets for the Family Stand at Bootham Crescent next season.

The tickets were donated by lifelong City supporter John Williams - who is also a member of the VPs - and the competition attracted 26 entries.

The Wrights, who live in Bishopthorpe, had been nominated by Olly's godfather Martin Crudge and were chosen as the winners by a panel of VP representatives.
