Jack Redshaw signs for City

By Dan Simmonite | 12th August 2020

York City Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of striker Jack Redshaw on a free transfer.

The 29-year-old forward was released by National League side FC Halifax Town this summer and the management team have wasted no time in securing his services.

Assistant-manager Micky Cummins said: "You go through your list and he was right at the top of the list along with a couple of others we are still talking to and he will bring that goal threat and will get us up the pitch.

"He is one we are very pleased to get over the line and he will certainly improve us in the top end of the pitch."

Redshaw is a proven goalscorer, having played the majority of his career in the Football League and scored 17 league goals in Salford City's 2017/18 promotion season from the National League North.

Upon signing, Redshaw said: "To join a club like this and hopefully climb the leagues with this club is something that excites me.

"I like to drop in and link play, get on the ball, I'd like to say I'm comfortable on the ball and I'll also chip in with goals too.

"I'm not one to set targets but hopefully I can get twenty plus and I'll be happy."
