Come and support Webber's walk

By Ian Appleyard | 7th October 2018

City fans are invited to support Kevin Webber on Thursday lunchtime when he visits Bootham Crescent as part of a charity walk in aid of Prostate Cancer UK.

The Vanarama National League recently linked up with Prostate Cancer UK and is currently re-branded as the MANarama League to promote the charity's work.

As part of this campaign, football supporter Kevin - who was diagnosed with advanced incurable terminal prostate cancer in 2014 aged just 49 - will be visiting Bootham Crescent on Thursday lunchtime during a seven-day walk covering 180 miles and 10 league clubs between Blyth and Halifax.

Kevin, who has three young children, was given only two years to live. However, whilst his diagnosis has not changed, he has managed to defy the odds and is still undertaking incredible physical challenges to raise funds and awareness for Prostate Cancer UK.

You can read more about Kevin on his website http://www.makethemostof.it

Kevin is due to arrive at Bootham Crescent at 12noon on Thursday October 11 and is scheduled to leave at 12.30pm.

This is not a fund-raising event but more about raising awareness of prostate cancer and demonstrating that rivals on the pitch can be together in this fight against prostate cancer.

City supporters are also invited to walk a mile with Kevin as he leaves Bootham Crescent and continues his journey. Team captain Joe Tait and other club officials will be showing their support.

Kevin’s march is being filmed in its entirety for a variety of media formats including BT sport, the Prostate Cancer UK channels, and the Vanarama National League.

Good luck Kevin. You have our support!
