Charity Match to be played at Bootham Crescent

14th April 2021

We can confirm details of our Farewell Bootham Crescent Charity Football Match to take place on Saturday 24th April – 3pm kick-off.

Supporters will take to the field for a game managed by two ex-players with all proceeds going to support the York Teaching Hospital Charity and the York City Football Club Academy.

30 individual playing spots will be available for supporters to purchase at the set price of £100 with further spots to be auctioned off for team captains and linesmen. Match and team sponsorship is also available.

Participants will play 90 minutes + penalties on the hallowed turf with a qualified referee in the middle, shirts with names and numbers, teamsheets, photographs and match footage all included for each player.

Due to the current government restrictions the match will be played behind closed doors, but a YouTube Livestream will be available with commentary from PA announcer Rob Havercroft.

Charity Match items will go live on the York City Online Store at midday tomorrow.

Raffle tickets will also be sold for the chance to participate in the final floodlight switch on scheduled for Tuesday 27th April.
