City sign defender Marcus Williams

13th February 2018

Leftback Marcus Williams has today joined York City on loan until the end of the season from Vanarama National League side Guiseley.

Doncaster-born Williams, 31, has played over 250 games in the Football League for Scunthorpe United, Sheffield United, Peterborough, and Reading.

He joined Guiseley at the start of the 2016-17 season after a spell in the Indian Super League with Kerala Blasters.

Williams could make his first appearance in a City shirt this afternoon when the reserves host Hartlepool United in Central League North at Bootham Crescent (kick-off 1pm).

Defender Connor Brown, meanwhile, has now completed a permanent switch to Bootham Crescent after playing four games on loan from Guiseley.
