Burn extends loan stay for season

By Ian Appleyard | 4th January 2018

Defender Jonny Burn has today extended his loan deal from Bristol Rovers until the end of the season.

Burn, 22, has made five appearances since arriving at Bootham Crescent on November 28 and scored his first goal in the Boxing Day victory at North Ferriby United.

"I am delighted to be staying," said Burn. "The gaffer has asked me if would sign until the end the season and it was a 'no-brainer'.

"I am playing every week and this is a good opportunity for me," he said. "Hopefully, if we get promoted, my time here might be longer."

Burn, who was born in Darlington, started his professional career at Middlesbrough and played on loan at both Oldham Athletic and Kilmarnock.

He joined League One side Bristol Rovers 12 months ago and made four appearances for the Pirates earlier this season.

Manager Martin Gray said: "Jonny has done a really good job since coming to the club and I am delighted that he has agreed to stay until the end of the season."
