Academy recruiting for various roles

As part of a substantial expansion of the York City Academy next season, the club is now recruiting for four roles both full-time and part-time to run or assist with the new programmes.

For each role please interview information as well as all roles listed below.

 

Interview format:

  • Practical coaching session
  • Interview inclusive of a presentation
  • Session topic and presentation task to be sent as part of invite to interview

Professional Development Phase Coach (full-time)

As part of York City FC’s exciting new partnership with York College, the football club is now recruiting for an enthusiastic, proactive individual to oversee the programme in the role of Professional Development Phase Coach.

This full-time role will require the successful candidate to deliver outstanding training and match experiences in the Professional Development Phase, whilst also build and maintain excellent relationships internally with colleagues from both the football club and the college as well as externally across the wider football network.

Closing date: Friday 3rd June 2022

Interview date: Tuesday 14th June 2022

 

Professional Development Phase Coach x 2 (part-time)

As part of York City FC’s exciting new partnership with York College, the football club is now recruiting for 2 x enthusiastic, proactive individuals to deliver on the programme in the role of Part-Time Professional Development Phase Coach.

These part-time roles will require the successful candidate to deliver outstanding training and match experiences in the Professional Development Phase, working with the Men’s Second Team and Women’s First Team (1 role per team).

Talent Hub Coach (full-time)

As part of York City FC’s exciting new partnership with Thirsk School and Sixth Form College, the football club is now recruiting for an enthusiastic, proactive individual to oversee the programme in the role of Talent Hub Coach. This full-time role will require the successful candidate to enthuse aspirational football players in a secondary school setting, using football as a vehicle for individual personal development.

The person will need to engage with a wide variety of stakeholders to recruit future players for the programme and provide inspirational development opportunities in return. Whilst practical coaching delivery is a fundamental part of the role, engaging with the local community to build and maintain excellent relationships internally with colleagues from both the football club and the school as well as externally across the wider football network will be crucial. Becoming a key member of the 'Thirsk team' may also involve mentoring and pastoral skills, supporting students within the school setting and working with the wider staff team.
