Academy thanks to York City South

21st June 2019

Head of Youth Dan Wilson has expressed his thanks to York City South for funding the purchase of new camera equipment for use at the club's training ground.

Members of the fans' group donated £1,500 towards the equipment which will now enable coaching staff to film training sessions and youth team games from a high angle.

"Performance analysis is a key part of the modern game. Every Academy at every professional club in the country needs the ability to record and review games," said Dan (pictured, above, testing the equipment this week at Bootham Crescent).

"Until now we had been using fairly basic equipment, however being able to record the games from a high angle makes it easier to review team shape with the players and can influence our training schedule.

"It's important for the boys to be able to see how they are performing. It's one thing giving verbal feedback, but showing them it on screen is even more powerful.

"We are extremely grateful to York City South for helping us acquire this equipment which will be a great asset to the youth set-up," he added.

Derek Feasby, chairman of York City South, said: "We are delighted to make this donation and thank all our members for their contributions."

The donation paid for a wide-range of equipment and accessories including the 7.5 metre high Sportsmast with adjustable tripod, Sony HD Camcorder, and 7'' HD Field Monitor.
