Scott Burgess and Kallum Griffiths both scored stunning goals as City beat Kidderminster Harriers 2-1 to secure back-to-back victories for the first time in 13 months.

Burgess hammered home from the edge of the area with seven minutes remaining - and only eight minutes after former City loanee Joe Ironside had equalised for the Harriers.

Griffiths put City ahead in the 31st minute with a brilliant left foot drive that fizzed over goalkeeper Brandon Hall from the edge of the area.

The victory has lifted City up to 14th in the table - seven points off the Vanarama National League North play-off zone with 11 games still to play.

Manager Steve Watson kept the 4-3-3 formation that brought victory against Ashton United but made one change in personnel with the fit-again Paddy McLaughlin returning in midfield and Wes York pushed forward to replace Jake Wright in attack.

Goalkeeper Adam Bartlett made early saves from Nick Clayton-Phillips and Liam McAlinden but City soon settled down and defended with confidence.

Ironside forced an important block from David Mirfin but former City striker Ashley Chambers was substituted after 23 minutes due to injury.

City took the lead after 31 minutes when fullback Griffiths cut inside from the right and struck an unstoppable left foot shot over goalkeeper Hall.

The home side enjoyed more possession in the second half but City showed great resolve at the back and limited their goalscoring opportunities.

However, when Sean Newton conceded a foul 30 yards out, the freekick from McAlinden picked out Ironside who turned the ball past Bartlett from six yards out.

Ironside, who failed to score during his loan stay at City, sent a far post header wide as Harriers briefly threatened to steal all three points.

But Burgess sent the City supporters wild with a stunning winner - flicking the ball over the head of his marker before volleying past Hall from the edge of the box.
