Office & Matchday/Events Assistant (Part-Time)

York City Football Club is a professional football club based out of Bootham Crescent in York, North Yorkshire. The team compete in the National League North, the sixth tier of league football in England.

Following a period of strong growth and the excitement of the club moving into the new Community Stadium at Monks Cross, the club are recruiting a part-time Office & Matchday/Events Assistant.

The ideal candidate will be sharp, customer-focused and motivated, and ready to take on the challenge of working within a fast-paced professional football club environment.

 

Job Purpose

To support the club with daily administration duties across (but not exhaustively) the commercial, media, retail and hospitality sectors, as well as with the organisation of matchdays and special events.
 


Key Responsibilities (include but not limited to)
  • Coordinating events and hospitality bookings for the Club’s boxes and lounges, answering all calls and email enquiries regarding rooms, menus, prices and availability;
  • Hosting the guests of the club in conjunction with the third-party matchday hospitality team;
  • Preparing the hospitality boxes and lounges for matchdays, as well as hosting hospitality bookings, ensuring and maximising client satisfaction on the day;
  • Arranging meeting rooms and ensuring any necessary catering has been organised.
  • Supporting and organising commercial, marketing, media and retail initiatives;
  • Assisting in creating promotional materials, including brochures, e-shots, website copy etc.;
  • Creating any commercial correspondence and draft letters when required.
  • Answering general email enquiries, in addition to telephone or drop-in queries;
  • Stock check and stock rotation;
  • General administration support for the office and club shop.

 

Candidate Attributes
Essential
  • Computer literacy;
  • Confident telephone manner;
  • Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Outgoing personality - ensuring a memorable time is provided for both clients and guests;
  • Ability to resolve queries in a proactive, practical and positive manner;
  • Exceptional attention to detail;
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise under minimum supervision;
  • Ability to deal with and withhold confidential information.

 

Desirable
  • 1+ Year(s) in a hospitality-focused working environment;
  • A passion for football and the direction the football club is going;
  • Previous experience using E-Commerce, CRM and E-Shot systems.

 

Candidates need to be available to work all matchday weekends as well as the occasional weekday evening, the dates/times as such are planned well in advance to provide flexibility.

Additional Information
  • This a part-time role with an immediate start date;
  • The salary for the role is dependent on experience, and will be discussed at interview;
