Like his fellow former York City Youth Team graduate Tom Platt, Tom Allan started with City Juniors at a very young age and continued to show promise as he moved through the youth ranks of his hometown club.
A tall defender with the ability to pass the ball out from the back, he first came to prominence when playing for the first team in pre-season friendly games at the age of just 16. He signed his first professional deal whilst still midway through his second year traineeship, and is very highly rated by all at the club.
Comfortable in both centre back and left back positions, Tom was eased into the first team picture during last season making four substitute appearances and one start, with that start coming in a brilliant 2-0 win at Northampton where Tom displayed courage and determination in a tricky game.
City fans hope that this season is the one where Tom can really establish himself as a first team regular and go from strength to strength.
