York City Football Club are pleased to announce the excellent news that winger Will Hayhurst is to remain at the club until the end of the season.
Will is currently at the club on loan from League 1 promotion chasers Preston North End, joining York on 27th January, initally for a period of a month.
Will is only 20 years old but has put in some impressive performances for The Minstermen, and has made six first team appearances so far as City have risen rapidly up the Sky Bet League 2 table.
About the loan extension, York City Manager Nigel Worthington said, "I'm delighted to get it sorted out. Preston have been very good on their side of it in allowing Will to stay with us, and the lad is very happy to stay. It gives us another experienced player within the group who is doing quite nicely for us at this moment and hopefully right through to the end of the season, barring any injury situation with Preston. So, it's good news."
We look forward to enjoying more of Will's excellent performances in a York City shirt as we try to cement our position in the top half of the League 2 table.
