On Saturday, when The Minstermen take on Rochdale, a book signing will be taking place in the York City Club Shop as "The Joy Of Sixfields (The Minstermen Survive)" is launched.
This publication has been written and self-published by York City fan Paul Wilson. It is a follow-up to his book, CITY ARE BACK, and is a tribute to his friends, fellow City fans, Ted Clark and Bill Barton who died earlier this year.
It tells the story of York City’s first season back in the Football League and once again seen through his eyes, shows the joy and despair endured by all football fans following their team. It culminates with City retaining their Football League status, in what was a magnificent end to the season, the turning point being at the Sixfields Stadium with a win over the then high flying Northampton Town, giving them the platform and confidence to end the season in style.
The book has only been produced in a limited edition and has 256 pages with photographs, match reports, league tables and statistics of York City’s return to the Football League. It can be purchased this Saturday in the club shop where the author will be on hand to sign copies, both before and after the game with Rochdale.
The book costs £15.00 and can also be purchased directly from Paul himself, please phone him on 01423 325295 or online at www.croftpublications.co.uk
The Club Shop sales will be available only on Saturday and sales in the shop will be CASH ONLY.
