Young Minstermen into the final stretch of their season...

YORK City Under-18s welcome Hartlepool United to Wigginton Road on Saturday looking to boost their hopes of a top three finish in the Youth Alliance League North East.

The young Minstermen lost 4-0 away at Rotherham United last time out, but a reserves side comprising of 10 youth team starters held a strong Grimsby Town side to a 0-0 draw in midweek.

Having lost two of their last three in the division, City’s hopes of a finish of third or above have taken a tumble but the three points in North Yorkshire this weekend would reinvigorate hopes of a strong ending to what has been a successful campaign.

Hartlepool meanwhile are without a win in seven and sit just four points off bottom place. Without a win on the road since November, City will fancy their chances having dispatched of Bradford City 3-1 in their lost home game in the division.

Manager Steve Torpey is anticipating no fresh injury problems ahead of the match and has a full squad to choose from for the contest.
