Beneden Renew Support For Foundation

Benenden dedicated to making a real difference through their ongoing commitment to York City Football Club Foundation.

Benenden’s partnership with York City Football Club Foundation has not only seen the test of time, having begun in January 2013, but has also seen the club go through many trials. However, as one of the largest local employers, they continue to be committed to the club’s charitable arm due to the huge and ever growing impact that it continues to have within their local Community.

YCFC Foundation is proud to boast Benenden will remain Community Sponsors for this season and Benenden is keen to further their relationship with the Foundation as part of their corporate social responsibility and has been exploring new ways of doing this. The two organisations have a natural fit due to their shared vision to inform, educate, and promote active and healthy lifestyles.

This season, Benendens support will have an added focus to provide up to 150 days fully funded on York City’s popular holiday courses. The courses run during every school holiday and provide fun, engaging activities for young people aged four to twelve years, up to four days per week. They are usually based in several locations across York, and are fully inclusive.

Paula Stainton, YCFC Foundation Manager said, “As the Foundation celebrates it’s tenth year in 2017, and with us running at least thirty holiday courses each year, it wouldn’t be an overstatement to say that we have delivered holiday fun days to tens of thousands of young people over that time. Many of these may now even be grown up in jobs or with their own children now, but we are equally aware that accessing paid provision isn’t always an option for some families and there are many reasons for this.”

Emmie Wise, CSR and Engagement Co-ordinator at Benenden said, “As a health and wellbeing organisation, we’re delighted to once again be supporting YCFC as they continue to keep children active, even during the school holidays. We strongly support their encouragement of local people to have sports as part of a healthy lifestyle, and we’re pleased to be a part of funding this sort of activity for those who may not be able to fund themselves. We hope that everyone who takes part has a great time and thoroughly enjoys themselves!”

Paula continued: “We are over the moon to be able to provide funded places, along with ensuring that the young people attending have access to nutritional snacks and meals to make sure they are catered for properly when the stability of school isn’t there, thanks to valuable support from Benenden. “
